-

With Pakistan day coming up in the next few days Pakistan has been busy getting ready to celebrate even with the pandemic throwing a damper on things Pakistan wants to have some sort of celebration for its people.

This brings us to Pakistan’s immediate neighbor India. It is a commonly known fact that India and Pakistan have not had the best or relations for years and it hasn’t been getting better either.

This year Prime Minister of India Narendra Singh Modi is making a move to strive for better relations with his neighboring country. The Prime Minister has extended his ward greetings on this happy occasion of Pakistan day and wrote a note to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan stating that India would very much like to have “cordial relations” with Pakistan in order to avoid any kind of terror for both its people.

The letter that was dated March 22nd Prime Minister Modi sent greetings to the people of Pakistan on the occasion of Pakistan Day stating that “As a neighboring country, India desires cordial relations with the people of Pakistan. For this, an environment of trust, devoid of terror and hostility, is imperative,”

Pakistan had celebrations on the 23rd of March as it was a national holiday to mark the adoption of its first constitution in 1956 also celebrate the passage of the Lahore resolution in 1940.

Prime Minister Modi sent separate wishes to Prime Minister Khan on the challenges of dealing with the Covid 19 pandemic where Modi states that it has been a difficult time for humanity.

Indian officials have yet again downplayed the significance of the letter, pointing out the exchange of pleasantries on national days is a routine affair.
