KIGALI, Rwanda (CU)_With the recent surge in COVID-19 infections in several countries across the globe, particularly in Asian, Caribbean and Pacific island nations, questions have arisen as to if the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) scheduled to be held in June, in Rwanda, would be postponed once again.
According to the Commonwealth secretariat, of the 54 member-states, 29 have implemented full or partial border closures, with some of them having imposed severe restrictions, such as the banning of international flights, thereby reducing the participation of the summit in Kigali.
