Embracing Solitude

-

By Melrie Monro

(CWBN)_ Do you ever wonder what we would do or where we would be without the 24/7 connection to the entire community of a world, without the gigabytes and extensive amount of information available at a click.

Why do you find it so hard to disconnect from the altar of social media? It seemingly feels like such a haunting thought to even part ways with your smart devices and actually go enjoy your own company. It seems like a psychological issue or a nervewracking thing to want to shut down and be alone for awhile. Why do people always feel like you are in depression if you choose to shut off and check in to the overwhelming reality of life and actually enjoy the solidarity?

You feel like you want to have some self love time, then whyever not!

1 – Finding your voice

We always choose to behave or enact our lives for the company we keep, be it with colleagues, family or friends. So we sometimes tend to lose our voice or our opinions in that ocean full of ideas. Therefore it is always good to embrace solitude and try to reflect on your own thoughts and try to find your voice, your opinion on the things that really matter to you.

2 – Being passionate about your hobby

Doing what you love the most whilst soaking up self love time is the most effective way to learn to love yourself, the time you actually do things for yourself, which could be absolutely anything at all from being a fitness fanatic to having a soothing mind by meditating and yoga moves or else letting out your artistic side. This could be anything at all that you have always loved doing.

3 – Unwinding

The stillness and the time we find for self-time can be mind soothing, almost a feel of putting your legs up and enjoying a nice cup of tea, a day at the spa, surrounded with nature or some simple vitamin. Unwinding reawakens the energy that has been running low due to the stress we all endure from family and office affairs, and the every day hassels of life. Therefore solitude serves as a rechargeable fuel that all of us need, and allotting that to our daily schedules is a definite must.

4 – Not being misanthropic

We find people building walls between themselves and the society. We also tend to think that keeping away from the world is quite unhealthy, which in fact is quite necessary and healthy. It’s a definite must to do, in order to not lose ourselves and to not drown in the stream of noise.

5 – Cutting away ties with the social or internet community

Cutting loose the ties with the streams of information through the world of social media has its own pros and cons. You might feel like a fallen warrior instead of being the influencer you desired to be and to have the followers on their toes all the time. So opting out temporarily from the social media platform could not only add mystery to your followers and the many social loyalists, but it might be a new theme of self love that you can display creating numbers to follow too.

Self love can be always misinterpreted as wanting to be arrogant, having too much of an ego and wanting to be antisocial. An outline of life happens in the moments of solitude. We listen to our inner voice and what we really want can be explored at the times of solidarity.

Spending self-time reflecting on our flaws, and finding ways to perfect them can satisfy you and be very rewarding.

With time and practice, it can teach you how to stay calm and listen to an opponent attentively in critical situations. You will learn how to embrace your emotions and withhold them when deemed necessary.

All in all, embracing solitude can make you have more confidence in life, explore the good, bad and ugly. It leads you to shed light and new perspective on the many things that trouble you in life, could lead to relieving your stress, which can be carried out without a visit to your doctor complaining of stress.
