Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. (C.W.B.N.)_ Etihad Airways has extended its offerings with the launch of charter flights and special flight services. Completely flexible, business and leisure guests to choose from a range of flight choices, including separate passenger service, a freight-only flight or a hybrid passenger and cargo bundle.

The Vice President Network Planning & Alliances of Etihad Airways, Alex Featherstone said: “While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact the commercial aviation industry, charter flights provide a convenient alternative to travel, providing customers with the flexibility to choose the departure time, destination and routing.”

This year, the United Arab Emirates’ national carrier has operated more than 500 charters, including passenger, state and relief flights. About 3.8 million tonnes of freight have been delivered to the government of Abu Dhabi as part of the national support programme using charter services.

Etihad Wellness guarantees that the highest levels of health and safety are upheld on charter flights at any point of the passenger journey.  This involves professionally certified Wellness Ambassadors, the first to be launched by the airline to offer important travel health information and treatment on the ground and every trip. Etihad Health, a global insurance policy for Covid-19, is included for all travellers flying with Etihad.

Etihad also charters flights for sports clubs, such as the last-minute trip to Manchester City Football Club in 2019, to help them resume their Asia pre-season tour after they faced a delay in their initial journey.
