Electrifying response to Revolt’s e-bikes

NEW DELHI (CU)_While there has been a global revival in the need to minimise climate change, many countries have launched plans to slash their greenhouse gas emissions and carbon neutrality by 2050. On the other hand, oil prices have also escalated, reaching record high levels across India this week. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the new e-bikes launched by Revolt Motors received an electrifying response on Thursday (15 July) as the two-wheelers sold out within minutes of opening online sales.

Previously, on 18 June, just two hours after sales was reopened, the company was forced to put brakes on the process due to heavy rush. It was no different this time, as bookings closed out within minutes after sales were launched on the company’s website.

“Another round of blockbuster sales by Revolt clearly shows that Indian customers are quick to adopt superior products,” Revolt Motors Managing Director Rahul Sharma said. “We are working round the clock to increase our production capacities even further to cater to this huge demand.”

According to the EV maker, the record sales came against the backdrop when consumers are battling with increasing oil prices, which made Revolt’s RV400 bikes hard to miss, since they run at a cost of Rs9 per 100 km (based on recent petrol prices at more than Rs100 per litre). This is less than 4 per cent of the cost of petrol bikes, which stand at Rs250 per 100 km.

Apart from efficiency in energy consumption, the fall in battery prices and state government incentives for electric vehicles have made prices of EV bikes comparable to their petrol counterparts.

“Revolt bikes being sold out within minutes is strong testimony of the product quality of Revolt. With petrol prices reaching upwards of Rs100 in the country, it is hard for customers to miss the huge savings that Revolt bikes bring,” business chairman of RattanIndia Enterprises, Anjali Rattan, said.
