Texas, USA (CU)_ The film Old, directed by M Night Shyamalan, premiered in theaters throughout the United States this weekend. According to Cinema Blend, the supernatural thriller was a success at the weekend box office in the United States, grossing $16.5 million. The 50-year-old director Mr. Shyamalan, as an introduction to his film, shared an adorable video with his mother Jayalakshmi Shyamalan, where they discussed the movie. The video with a message from his mother was posted in social media before the film’s premiere, where Ms Shyamalan revealed that she had not seen the movie yet, but expressed faith in its making.

The 59-second video clip features Mr Shyamalan introducing himself and his mother before telling her that the film, despite its title, is not based on her. In the video, we can also see Ms Shyamalan humbly joining her hands in namaste. Ms Shyamalan then confesses saying, “I haven’t seen the movie yet. But, it’s made by my son”. She added, “One thing I can say about my son is that he’s very good at it, he’s hardworking, he’s intelligent. A good man with good artistic ideas about storytelling. So, it has to be good.”

The video has garnered more than 1.2 lakh views on social media platforms. Some people complimented Mr Shyamalan’s mother in the comments section, while others appreciated the video as a brilliant marketing strategy. One twitterati said, “So beautiful, that’s exactly how I would answer for my son”. Another user commented, “Mom didn’t see the movie yet so she instead pitched her son like a potential husband”. Another Twitter user said, “This is the best marketing idea ever”.
