Gap between the rich and the poor having deadly effects on impoverished populations

Australia’s Health Tracker by Socio-economic Status 2021, that was issued following a study which compared the richest 20 per cent of Aussies to the poorest 20 cent, found that the latter group was 1.5 times more likely to die early. This was possibly linked to several factors, including the 70 per cent more likelihood of impoverished populations being physically inactive, 57 per cent more likely to be obese, about three times more likely to smoke and twice as likely to have diabetes.
