Mumbai, India (CU)_ The Chhatrapati Pramila Raje (CPR) civil hospital in Kolhapur has resumed treatment for non-Covid patients after a five-month break. The city’s main public hospital was transformed into a complete Dedicated Covid Hospital (DCH) during the first and second waves of the Covid-19 pandemic, with Covid patients occupying all 400 beds. As a result, non-Covid patients faced more trouble when main departments such as ENT, obstetrics, mental health, out-patient, and in-patient were closed. In addition, the hospital also served the impoverished patients, who frequently flocked to the hospital in huge numbers in search of free or low-cost treatment for a variety of diseases.
