Kombat residents breathe a sigh of relief

OTAVI, Otjozondjupa Region (CU)_More than 12 years ago, the Kombat Mine, at the southern margin of the Otavi Mountain Range in northern Namibia, was forced to shut down on account of a flooding that was caused by a power failure. Since then, thousands of residents in the area have been living in what can be described as a ghost state, as the shutdown in 2008 brought all economic activities to a halt. Now, with the licence to resume activities at the dormant copper mine being granted to Trigon Metals, townsmen are breathing a sigh of relief, with hopes for revival in employment opportunities.
