New Zealand has reported via media and press that there has been 11 new cases of Covid found in the country even after being careful and having multiple lock downs and quarantine centers. These cases were found near the border by border management and reported immediately to the hospital and the teams in charge of dealing with such situation. The ministry of health has declared that before the 11 cases there were no cases in New Zealand. They had just managed to get the situation under control and have all Covid positive patients in the hospital. By doing this they were reducing the risk of the virus spreading there by letting the country adjust to a new normal.

This happiness was clearly short lived as the new 11 cases put New Zealand back a few steps of the Covid recovery road plan.  Out of these 11 cases 1 person had arrived from Italy via Singapore and the other 10 people had arrived on the same flight as a group from India via the United Arab Emirates. The testing has now begun and they are running additional lab testing and genome sequence to make sure that the variants are the same of the virus. It is important that this is done so that there aren’t new strains of the virus entering the country.

According to the statistics this new 11 cases now brings up the countries cases to a total of 88 active cases. The total number of confirmed Covid cases has further risen to 2,137. According to the health ministry the total number of test kits used for sampling and testing in the country has come close to 2 million.

New Zealand is also on alert level 1 which means that people can have small gatherings without any trouble as long as they are taking the proper precautions and are being careful.
