Tamil Nadu construction workers to benefit by a new programme

Tamil Nadu Housing and Urban Development Minister S Muthusamy launched the new insurance program for one lakh construction laborers in the state and also introduced the ‘Real Estate Vision-2030’ document at the 14th edition of FAIRPRO-2022 at Nandambakkam Trade Center.

Padam Dugar, head of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations (CREDAI), was in attendance for the event. CREDAI Chennai Chapter and Tamil Nadu Construction Workers Welfare Board together launched the insurance program. According to the media reports, following the launch of the scheme, some laborers received the scheme document from the minister in the presence of senior officials of CREDAI during the event.

According to Arumugam, secretary of CREDAI, the new insurance policy will cover more than one lakh construction workers. The program would cover and assist the laborers and their family in the event of unforeseen expenditures ranging from accidents to pregnancy, independent of the builder for whom they work.

Muthusamy also highlighted nine different plans for the welfare of the construction laborers and their standard of living. Appreciating the efforts of CREDAI Chennai in preparing the 2030 vision document, the minister highlighted various efforts to support the development of the State.

In the meantime, CREDAI published its 360-degree vision paper, ‘Real Estate Vision 2030,’ with the goal of expanding investment possibilities and attracting larger companies to the city. The objective is to make Tamil Nadu the most attractive investment location in the country.
