64 terror suspects, 17 in life jail escaped from Kuje Prison attack

NIGERIA AFRICA – There has been an attack in the Kuje Prison in Nigeria and it’s a problem. There have been 64 terrorisms suspect and 17 lives in jail prisoners that have made it out into the free world and the government is in hot water.

There is an investigative hearing in the process now which is being led by the house at an investigative hearing by the House of Representatives Joint Committee.

It was Minister at Rauf Aregbesola who is the Kuje Custodial Centre that admitted that the security guards and other agents provided had failed their duties to countering the terrorist. He did some calculations about the number of people who had escaped during this prison attack.

There were 888 inmates that escaped and according to the Minister 64 of those inmates were suspects of terrorism and also terrorist in their own rights. There were also 36 death row prisoners that took the second chance at life that was given plus 17 life imprisonment prisoners also took the chance.

He stated to the media that “On the day of the invasion of (Kuje Custodial Centre), there was 31 military personnel of the Nigerian Army, five personnel of MPOL 21, five personnel of MOPOL 50, two personnel of the Counter Terrorism Unit of the Nigeria Police, two personnel of Kuje Police Division, seven personnel of Nigeria Immigration, three personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and 10 personnel of correctional armed squad. These 65 people were there for specific responsibility of resisting and preventing any attack. And they were all armed. Because of the presence of the pressmen here, I would not tell you the grades of arsenals in their possession, but they were well armed.”
