Chennai (Commonwealth Union)_ Actor and politician Vijay has recently caught public attention, not just for his upcoming film or political activities, but for his frequent use of a private jet. Known for keeping a low profile, the Tamil superstar’s air travel has now become a topic of national interest. Reports suggest Vijay has been using a Hawker 800XP private jet, especially as he balances his film career and political ambitions. The aircraft, registered as VT-TSG, has been spotted flying to cities like Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Delhi, and, more recently, Trichy.

While the exact ownership details remain unclear, sources estimate the cost of the plane to be around ₹100 crore, although its amenities are said to be modest rather than extravagant. According to reports, the rental cost of this jet can go up to ₹14 lakh per day, surprising even some of his fans. The aircraft can accommodate between 8 to 13 passengers and includes two pilots and a flight attendant. Features include reclining seats, a satellite phone, a meeting space, and a lounge area, designed more for practicality than luxury.

What made the news more intriguing was his recent flight from Chennai to Trichy for the political campaign. As Vijay kicked off his election campaign from Trichy, reports say that his flight became one of the most tracked in the world on the FlightRadar24 app. While not yet confirmed, at one point, over 8,000 people were tracking the flight live, making it one of the most followed private aircraft journeys in recent times. However, to put things in perspective, the most tracked flight in history remains the 2022 journey of Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin from Edinburgh to London, which drew 4.79 million trackings on FlightRadar24.

Vijay’s recent travel coincides with a pivotal moment in his career. His final film as a full-time actor, ‘Jana Nayagan,’ directed by H. Vinoth and scored by Anirudh Ravichander, is set for release on January 9, 2026, during the Pongal festival. As he increasingly steps into politics, the media scrutinises every move he makes, from his jet-setting lifestyle to his film choices. With public interest at an all-time high, Vijay’s flight habits have become more than a matter of convenience; they have become a symbol of his evolving role in Tamil Nadu’s political and entertainment spheres.
