AUGUSTA, Georgia (CWBN)_ Defending Champion Tiger Woods will play alongside 2019 Open winner Shane Lowry in the opening two rounds of the 84th Masters, which will begin tomorrow (Nov 12).

They tee off with US Amateur champion Andy Ogletree on the 10th at 12:55 GMT.

Meanwhile, world number one Dustin Johnson is out at 17:00 alongside Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy.

US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau will tee off at 12:33 with Spain’s Jon Rahm and South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen.

The tournament, which was postponed to November owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, will feature 93 players on the field.

However, Sergio Garcia, who won on the PGA Tour in early October for the first time since the 2017 Masters, withdrew from the event on Monday (Nov 09), after testing positive for Covid-19.

“On Saturday night when I got back from Houston, I started to notice an itchy throat and a slight cough. These symptoms continued with me on Sunday, so I decided to get tested for COVID-19, as did my wife Angela. Fortunately, she tested negative but I did not,” Garcia tweeted on Monday.

Dustin Johnson was another player who had tested positive for the virus. Even though he missed the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas and the Zozo Championship at Sherwood last month, the world’s No. 1-ranked player returned last week to tie for second in Houston.

With a tremendous field of many of the best professionals and amateurs in the world, the final major tournament of 2020 is expected be an epic ride from Thursday’s first round onward.
