Chennai, India (CU)_ According to Google, the latest updates made to the Google Maps will now allow anyone to add new or missing roads to the map. Google says that the community-driven additions will make it easier for people to share and find local recommendations and information. Kevin Reece, Google Maps’ Director of Product, said, “To make sure your map reflects the real world, we make it easy for anyone with a Google account to contribute their local knowledge about more than 200 million places in Google Maps. These community-led updates help people everywhere make better decisions about what to do and where to go”.

The most sensational aspect of Google Maps is that it now allows users to add new or missing roads to the maps as well as fix incorrect information. To do this, visit the link google.com.my/maps on your computer; select ‘edit the map’ from the menu in the top left corner; then choose ‘missing road’ from the list of options. After selecting the ‘missing road’ on Google Maps, you can draw the new road. It allows you to locate the road you want to report on the map and you can drop a pin on it. Then you can write the road’s name as well as a note about the road.

It also allows you to correct an address or its location on a map, add a missing location, correct the incorrect information, and exchange feedback. Google also says the new updates about the roads will be assessed before releasing them to ensure the accuracy of the new suggestions and edits made to the map. Google Maps also added an effective new feature called split-screen to their Street View mode in February. It allows you to look at places in Street View while still looking at a map, which can help you follow directions more effectively. Google is also planning to carry out photo updates in the coming weeks, allowing you to share more information about a spot. After reviewing the place, you can post your views about the place.
