LONDON (CU)_ Members of the Commonwealth Youth Ministers Task Force, along with Secretary-General Patricia Scotland, met virtually, in order to agree priorities for young people at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) due to be held in June, in Rwanda. In a statement issued on Thursday (6 May), the Commonwealth Secretariat noted that individuals under the age of 30, who make up 60 per cent of the association’s population, bear the social and economic burden of the COVID-19 pandemic, with one in six young people being forced out of work as a result.
