lululemon athletica teams up with Genomatica to manufacture bio-nylon products

Ontario, Canada (CU)_ lululemon athletica inc. announced a multi-year partnership with Genomatica, a pioneer in sustainable materials, to include sources of renewable, bio-based materials into lululemon’s products. This is lululemon’s initial equity investment in a sustainable materials firm, as well as the largest retail relationship of Genomatica. The two businesses will collaborate to develop a low-impact, plant-based nylon to replace traditional nylon, which is presently the most common synthetic material used in lululemon goods.
