Copeland pupils dress up to celebrate World Book Day

Last week saw book lovers around the globe celebrate Roald Dahl Day, with memories of the author’s stories and characters shared on what would have been his 105th birthday. The entire month of September has been used by schools all over the world to take part in many different activities to celebrate the popular author.

This celebration while is fun but also somewhat educational and teaches kids the joys of reading. One of the more interactive events was the Dahlicious Dress-up Day, where children went to school dressed up as their favourite Roald Dahl character.

The events are all in aid of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, which has provided specialist nurses and support for seriously ill children living with complex, lifelong illnesses for 30 years.
