These nanobots can carry the sperm towards the egg for fertilization

California, USA (CU)_ It may appear that a sperm’s job is simple. Above all, its main job is to swim and reach the egg and deposit the genetic material. However, in certain conditions, the failure of a healthy sperm to swim might result in infertility, which affects nearly 7% of all males. Asthenozoospermia is the medical term for this disorder, and thus far, there is no effective treatment for this.

However, a research published in the journal Nano Letters has set the bar for what could be achievable in the future. A group of scientists from the Institute for Integrative Nanosciences at IFW Dresden in Germany created microscopic motors that can help sperm travel better on their route to an egg, effectively functioning like a carrier or taxi.
