Huawei launches Watch D

Mumbai, India (CU)_ Huawei’s smartwatch portfolio has been expanded with the debut of the Huawei Watch D. The company’s inaugural smartwatch features an in-built blood pressure monitor and can assess blood pressure from the wrist. The USP of the smartwatch is its sensors that are capable of monitoring blood pressure, blood oxygen, sleep, stress, and body temperature. According to the firm, the smartwatch also aids in detecting atherosclerosis or the buildup of fats, cholesterol, and other substances in and out of artery walls, and arrhythmia, which is associated with the heartbeat rate or rhythm.

A blood pressure and ECG monitor are included in the smartwatch. According to the company, the Chinese Pharmaceutical Department has registered smartwatches as Class II medical equipment. The Huawei Watch D has a mini air pump and an airbag, which functions as a blood pressure monitoring device. Additionally, the straps and curved airbags are made of tension-bearing material, together with a butterfly buckle that generates pressure to precisely record blood pressure. Furthermore, according to the manufacturer, the wearable has an ECG monitor that generates ECG results in real time.

The Huawei Watch D is available in titanium and black and is priced at 2,988 yuan which is INR 35,305. From December 25th, this gadget will be accessible in China. The business has still not disclosed specifics about the smartwatches’ worldwide launch and availability. The specifications of the Huawei Watch D include the following. The Huawei Watch D features a 1.64-inch full-HD display with a 456280-pixel resolution. This gadget supports Bluetooth 5.1 and is compatible with HarmonyOS-enabled smartphones, Android 6.0 and above, and iOS 12.0.

The smartwatch is water resistant and features IP68 standards. GPS and near-field communication (NFC) features are also supported by the wearables. The Huawei Watch D’s battery life lasts till seven days with a single charge and it takes around two hours to fully charge. Message reminders, voice assistant, and an alarm clock are the other key features of Huawei Watch D.
