PM Modi leads International Yoga Day celebrations in Mysuru!

Mysuru, India (CU)_ Basavaraj Bommai, Chief Minister of Karnataka, reviewed the arrangements for International Yoga Day 2022, which will be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Mysuru on June 21. The celebrations have also been planned at various locations of the country, which will be headed by concerned ministers. As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, PM Modi would do yoga on the grounds of the Mysuru Palace.

According to a statement released by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), “Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai reviewed the preparations for the mega event. He instructed the Mysuru Deputy Commissioner to finalize the 15,000 participants by 13 June. He asked the DC to ensure that the selection comprises people from all sections of the society as instructed by the Prime Minister’s office”.

The administrators were instructed to make preparations for the transportation, refreshments, drinking water, and other needs for the attendees in coordination with the Union administration. According to Bommai, “Extend all the cooperation to the Union AYUSH ministry, which is keen to organize an exhibition on Yoga on the occasion”.

According to the CMO, the state government has established fourteen committees, with a core committee led by the minister in charge of the district, to ensure a seamless and effective execution of the event. It was also said that police personnel were instructed to guarantee foolproof security for the PM’s visit. The celebrations for International Yoga Day were staged in a grand fashion at 75 most significant heritage sites in the nation. In Karnataka, the events were held at Mysuru, Halebeedu, Hampi, Pattadakal and Vijayapura (Golgumbaz).

According to the statement, Prime Minister Modi will launch the event in Mysuru, while Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Agriculture, will take part in Halebeedu event. Further, Prahlad Joshi, Union minister for Coal, will attend the event in Hampi; Rajeev Chandrashekar, IT minister, will do so in Pattadakal; and Bhagwant Khuba, Union minister for Energy, will do so in Vijayapura.
