Representatives from almost all African nations attended the conference, and the primary message was to eliminate neocolonialism from Africa and establish mutually beneficial economic ties between Africa and Russia without interference from the West.
An economist who witnessed the conference, Dr. Lubinda Haabazoka, said: “The message at the conference was clear. creating a neocolonialist-free Africa. fostering mutually beneficial business ties between Russia and Africa without interference from the West.
Russia made it very clear during the conference that it had no issue with Africa interacting with anyone and that it was wrong for others to tell Africa who its allies should be. The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, stated at the conference that “we believe that African countries are already capable of resolving their issues on their own. Additionally, the time when the West ruled over Africa should be long past. Most African nations, including Kenya and Uganda, expressed gratitude to Russia for its assistance during the liberation fight.
President Putin gave a speech at the conference’s conclusion, promising to collaborate with African allies and play a key role in assuring Africa’s economic sovereignty. In addition, President Putin promised to give free fertilizer to Zambia, Malawi, and Zimbabwe, in addition to other African nations. In order to lower energy expenses, Russia also promised to offer cheap fuel to Africa.
