Science & Technology, Canada (Commonwealth Union) – Scientists from the University of Alberta (U and A) have created a new catalyst that could be a game changer in the way we produce power and engage in water purification. The placement in any type of water that is given with a small quantity of power, the catalyst generates hydrogen capable of being fed into a fuel cell to produce electricity together with distilled water with drinking safety.

The catalyst was stumbled upon almost completely by chance as Robin Hamilton was making an electrode for a student engaged in the waste biomass upcycling project. A combination of powders was blended and permitted to remain overnight in water, with the intention of completing the cell the following day. As he went back in the morning, a bubbling mixture was noticed, which was a reaction that was highly unusual.
