Marine mammals are a diverse group of animals that play important roles in ocean ecosystems. They are apex predators, helping to regulate the populations of prey species, and they also help to cycle nutrients through the food chain. Additionally, marine mammals are important indicators of ocean health, as they can be highly sensitive to changes in their environment.

Despite their importance, marine mammals face a number of threats that put their survival at risk. These threats include, Habitat loss, Climate change, Pollution and Human interaction

Marine mammal rescue organizations play an important role in protecting and conserving marine mammal populations. These organizations work to rescue and rehabilitate sick, injured, or stranded marine mammals, with the goal of releasing them back into the wild. In addition to rescue and rehabilitation, these organizations also conduct research to better understand marine mammal behavior, ecology, and health, and they work to raise awareness about the importance of marine mammal conservation.
