Pakistan (Commonwealth Union)_ In a remarkable breakthrough, Pakistan has introduced its first online air transportation service, thereby revolutionizing air travel for its citizens. Accordingly, passengers can now easily book their air taxi according to their preferred time and destination using this innovative service. Similar to reserving a regular taxi from the convenience of their residences, individuals can now book an air taxi through an intuitive mobile app.

The inauguration of the aviation transportation service was held in Karachi, where the DA 40 Diamond series aircraft lease agreement was formally inked at the Civil Aviation Office next to Karachi International Airport. Imran Aslam Khan, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Sky Wings Aviation, was ecstatic to announce that the aircraft designated for aerial travel has arrived in Pakistan after a successful test flight. The single-engine aircraft can accommodate four people at a time. He said, “The primary goal of this air taxi service is to provide emergency transportation from Karachi to remote areas in rural Sindh and Balochistan through aerial tours”.

The German-manufactured aircraft have a maximum speed of up to 160 kilometers per hour, boast a flight range of 2,000 kilometers, and are ideally suited for efficient air travel, ensuring prompt and reliable transportation services. Imran stated that the soon-to-be-launched mobile application will allow citizens to select their preferred flight time and destination. Moreover, the cost of this innovative air taxi will be substantially less than that of conventional charter services, which begin at Rs 2.5 million for a journey from Karachi to other cities in Sindh and Balochistan.

According to the Chief Operating Officer, “Initially, the air taxi service will commence with eight aircraft of different capacities, with plans to add more planes in the near future. Importantly, this service is not limited to political, religious, or business personalities but will be accessible to individuals from all walks of life”. Khan added that the trip from Karachi to Gwadar will take around three hours, whereas Nawabshah can be reached in just one hour and fifteen minutes.

In addition to air taxi services, Sky Wings has also introduced an air ambulance service and a one-day pilot program, further solidifying its commitment to delivering exceptional and timely care to those in need. This efficient and prompt air taxi service will undoubtedly facilitate swift and convenient transportation for passengers, significantly reducing travel time and enhancing overall efficiency.
