Afreximbank’s 2023 Annual Meetings attended by President Akufo-Addo along with other Af.. & Caribbean leaders.

Africa (Commonwealth Union) _ The 30th Annual Meetings of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) are scheduled to take place in Accra, Ghana, from June 18th to 21st, 2023, with Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and several prominent figures from Africa and the Caribbean expected to participate. The event, known as AAM2023, will feature a diverse lineup of speakers, including heads of state and government, former leaders, Politicians, business executives, and trade professions, experts in trade finance, academics, and public figures.

Among the confirmed speakers are President Akufo-Addo and Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley of Barbados. Other notable speakers include Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former Nigerian President; Dr. Donald Kaberuka, SouthBridge Group’s Chairman of the Board of Directors and former President of the African Development Bank (AfDB); Wamkele Mene, Secretary General of the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA); Ambassador Albert Muchanga, Economic Development, Trade, and Industry Commissioner, and Minerals at the African Union Commission; and Acting Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Antonio Pedro.

The agenda for AAM2023 will encompass various formats, such as keynote addresses, panel discussions, plenary sessions, and fireside conversations. The discussions will revolve around key themes related to African trade, trade finance, and development, with a particular focus on the implementation of the AfCFTA. Some of the topics to be covered include accelerating the implementation of the AfCFTA, promoting prosperity through peace and security, achieving food security for sustainable development in Africa, harnessing African culture and literature for the African Renaissance, corporate perspectives on achieving the vision, the prospects of African integration, and much more.

The Afreximbank Annual Meetings serve as important gatherings for economic decision-makers in Africa and attract a wide range of attendees, including business leaders, political figures, banking professionals, and other stakeholders involved in economic development.
