Samsung has mounted its first B. IoT artificial intelligence structure in the UK to regulate its VRF system at an innovative EPC A-rated multi-tenanted renovated office building in Warrington.

A key necessity for Element, with its 42,500ftof offices across 3 floors, was for a state-of-the-art heating and cooling structure that can be independently supervised for each client.

Samsung was nominated for the first installation of its B. IoT system in the UK, connected to the Samsung DVMS2 air conditioning structure. Contracted by Chorley-based AC contractor AXD Environmental Ltd and restoration contractor Flexible Business Interiors, the structure also integrates other principal Samsung technologies at a value of £230,000.

Eight Digital Variable Multi S2 heat recovery VRF Systems, 70 ducted fan coils, 20 energy recovery aeriation units with CO2 sensors were mounted, with DMS2.5 central regulator with power integrated modules for energy meter incorporation. In addition, a mezzanine floor with roof garden with a two-pipe VRF scheme, ERV and split system. All were connected via the Samsung B. IoT regulator platform.

The Samsung B. IoT platform has a number of structures designed to encourage energy efficiency, together with suppling effective building operation with energy usage analysis & monitoring, data-based ease regulator, target-based energy usage to certain zones where required the most and tenant-based power usage dispersal.

The AI structures of DVMS2 permit the system to be enhanced based on continuous learning of occupant’s requirements for comfort. This individualized controls give the building tenant full control of the system. Separate zoning and monitoring permit the client extreme flexibility in terms of potential tenants as each zone can be observed and billed separately.

The system can also activate an alert to the approved user if they’re reaching or surpassing a certain energy usage level for their zone. Alarms which could be either serious or cautioning type, are said to be a crucial part of the B. IoT energy saving procedure, of which there are a number of influences determined by AI technology in the DVMS2’s outdoor unit.

B. IoT permits any authorized operator to log on to the administration system from anywhere and turn elements on or off depending on needs. Different permissions can also be given to diverse users according to their authority level or title role, giving organisations a new stage of control over their office space.

Aeriation via the ERV system is measured by CO2 devices monitoring the occupied spaces and presenting fresh tempered outside air in agreement with indoor and outdoor temperatures.

If there are any questions or errors in the structure, a devoted Samsung team offers remote support for all products and can solve remotely with VPN to dial in and access the system.

Another advantage is that the system is able to quarantine in a zoned way so that if one system error occurs; the remaining systems can function self-sufficiently or shut down remotely as a complete unit if there is believed to be a serious error.
