Caribbean (Commonwealth) _  In a Super Eights match in Barbados, the United States was bowled for 115 by the reigning champions, England, thanks to four wickets in five balls from Chris Jordan, which included the third hat-trick claimed by bawlers of  2024 T20 World Cup.

Jordan was called up by England for this match after being recalled from Barbados. He concluded with impressive figures of 4-10 in 2.5 overs, becoming just the second bowler in this tournament to achieve a hat-trick, after Australia’s Pat Cummins did it against both Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

After beating Pakistan to get to the second round, the United States, a non-testing nation, was 115-6 when 35-year-old pacer Jordan entered the game to bowl the 19th over. The United States was one of the event’s surprise packages.

Harry Brook was out for 29, as Corey Anderson struck a quick, low full toss to him at long-on with his first ball of the over. After two deliveries, Jordan removed Ali Khan’s off-stump off the ground and clean bowled him for a duck.

Despite a frantic review, Nosthush Kenjige was out for the very next delivery, and Jordan went on to complete his hat-trick and conclude the innings by bowling Saurabh Netravalkar between the bat and the pad to remove the middle stump of the eleventh player.

In a men’s T20 international, Jordan’s hat-trick was the first by an English bowler; for the women’s team, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Anya Shrubsole both took three-for-three. Strange sensation, but more significantly, it’s always pleasant to limit the United States and to do so in a unique location like this. Jordan spoke to the press after the intermission.

It’s wonderful to hit the target this time after a few attempts at a hat-trick. At the conclusion of the six-over powerplay, the United States was in a reasonably good position at 48-2. But after that, Adil Rashid bowled two fantastic googlies to get rid of Aaron Jones and Nitish Kumar, who had scored the highest innings total of thirty.

Jordan stated: “I thought Rashid came and controlled one end for us and really set up the game for us.” The leg-spinner finished with poor stats of 2–13. England may go to the round of four even before Group Two ends on Sunday when co-hosts West Indies face South Africa, who hasn’t lost in this tournament, in Antigua. A commanding victory would do this.

“We’re thinking about the points first and foremost, then we’ll look at net run-rate,” Jordan stated. Australia swiftly On Saturday, Pat Cummins made history in St. Vincent by becoming the first player to score a hat-trick in back-to-back ICC Men’s T20 World Cup games.

On Thursday, Cummins scored a hat-trick in two overs against Bangladesh, and the right-arm bowler finished the feat.

On Thursday, Cummins scored a hat-trick in two overs against Bangladesh. The right-armer repeated the feat against Afghanistan, dismissing Rashid Khan, Karim Janat, and Gulbadin Naib with three straight deliveries. It was the first time a player had accomplished the feat more than once, and it was just the eighth time a bowler has finished a hat-trick in Men’s T20 World Cup history.

In the Men’s T20 World Cup, Cummins has already joined an elite group of seven players who have claimed a hat-trick. The other bowlers who have achieved this feat are Josh Little (2022), Karthik Meiyappan (2022), Wanindu Hasaranga (2021), Brett Lee (2007), and Curtis Campher (2021).

Although India is well-positioned to make it to the final four, Rohit Sharma’s team might yet lose to Australi a in their most recent Super Eight encounter.

Meanwhile, in a crucial match in St Lucia on Monday, India crushed Australia by 24 runs to win the Group 1 table and advance straight to the semi-finals. Australia’s hopes of making it to the last four were jeopardized by Rohit Sharma’s exceptional.
