According to People Daily, the president warned senior officers not keen to work with him to resign and joined their preferred political outfits ahead of the 2022 General Election. “The president was clear that his main focus was to ensure the Big Four Agenda projects were completed. He said state officers should go out and overturn the narrative against the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), saying it will help unite the country,” a senior official intimated to the publication.

State House spokesperson Kanze Dena in a statement noted Uhuru was keen on completion of ongoing government projects and programmes across all sectors and regions of the country. “The President instructed the officials to ensure prudent utilization of public resources in service delivery saying Kenyans must always get the highest value return for their money. The head of state urged the officers to embrace teamwork and unity of purpose so as to deliver the promise of a better and prosperous Kenya for all,” Dena stated.

During a tour of Uthiru a week ago, the President urged Ruto and his associates to resign as they were being accused of downsizing the level of issues pertaining to the Jubilee administration. In an apparent reference to the DP and his Tanga Tanga brigade, Uhuru said it was ridiculous for one to boast of Jubilee successes on one hand but trash-talk it on the other. “There is no need to incite Kenyans against one another. You speak from the two sides of the mouth that the government is bad yet you take credit for what we have achieved as a government. How many governments do we have? Isn’t it one? If you see the good be part of it, if you only see the bad, walk out and leave for others. Let’s respect each other,” he cautioned.
