Air India launches non-stop flights

An airline official said that, this April Air India Express, a subsidiary of Air India, is all set to commence non-stop flights to Imphal and Kochi from Kolkata.

He also says that, flights to Kochi will fly six days a week but to Imphal the flights will operate daily.

The flight from Kolkata to Imphal will leave at 7 am and will reach in Manipur capital at 8.05 am. The return flight will leave at 8.35 am and arrive in Kolkata at 10.20 am.

Generally, at around 11.25 am the Kolkata-Kochi flight will take off and reach the destination at 2.35pm, while at around 3.05 pm the return flight will leave and land here by 6.10pm.

According to sources, through route integration the airline will be operating more flights on several domestic routes.

In the meantime, recently the airline has announced introduction of four fare products – Xpress Lite (cabin baggage only fares), Xpress Value (15 kg check-in bag fares), Xpress Flex (infinite changes but with no fees), and Xpress Biz (business class seating with free Gourmair meals and priority services).

The airline said, with the launch of this service, travelers now have the option to personalize their trip aligning with ‘Fly as You Are’ and we promise to make travel more convenient for our people.

The statement said that on all the new Air India Express Boeing 737-8 aircraft, the Xpress Biz fares are available as equal as a business class that bothers the traditional Low-Cost carrier (LCC) model with a hybrid offering.

For domestic flights, people can enjoy increased baggage allowances of 25kg and 40kg for international flights when booking Xpress Biz fares.

In India, across 70 routes, Air India Express is even now operating aircraft with ‘Biz’ seats while joining metro cities with other key destinations. From Kolkata, the destinations are Guwahati, Jaipur, Chennai, Imphal and Ayodhya. Air India Express, is a part of the Tata group and a subsidiary of Air India, while daily operating more than 360 flights, joining 31 local and 14 international airports, with a fleet of 67 aircraft, including 28 Airbus A320s and 39 Boeing 737s
