UK (Commonwealth) _Aldi will invest more than £550 million in extending its shop and delivery network in 2024, with plans to establish new stores and upgrade current ones. New shops slated to open in 2024 will create around 1,500 new employment, in addition to existing job opportunities in its stores, Regional Distribution Centres, and UK headquarters.
Aldi presently operates over 1,000 shops in the UK and is committed to meeting demand with a long-term objective of 1,500. Aldi just become the first retailer to promise store and warehouse staff at least £12 per hour after revealing new pay rates that will take effect on February 1, 2024. The new minimum rate makes Aldi the first store to provide rates in line with the Real Living Wage, which was established by the Living Wage Foundation in October of last year.
