Amitabh Bachchan’s tweet about India’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign

Mumbai, India (CU)_ Bollywood superstar and legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan is an active user of social media and recently he conveyed his message in social media regarding India’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign that started on January 16. The 78-year-old actor tested positive for COVID-19 in June 2020. The actor said that when the country becomes free of coronavirus, it would be a “proud moment” for the whole nation. Amitabh was the ambassador of UNICEF’s polio eradication campaign in India until 2014 when the nation became polio-free.

The actor took to Twitter to convey his message about COVID-19 vaccination. He tweeted, “It was a proud moment when we made India polio free, it shall be just as proud a moment when we make India COVID-19 free. Jai Hind”. He added the hashtags #LargestVaccineDrive. India began its vaccine rollout on 16th of January, and the frontline healthcare workers were vaccinated with Covishield and Covaxin.

Previously, the voice of Amitabh Bachchan was selected as a caller tune to make public service coronavirus announcement. This measure aimed at increasing awareness of the required preventive steps to be taken during the pandemic.

In July 2020, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and 9-year-old Aaradhya Bachchan tested positive for coronavirus. They were admitted at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai and underwent treatment. During his treatment at the hospital, Amitabh Bachchan without skipping thanked his EF every day. When he recovered after a few weeks, he resumed shoot for Kaun Banega Crorepati 12, a famous TV quiz show hosted by him for many years in Mumbai.

On the professional front, Amitabh’s last project was Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo, where he worked with Ayushmann Khurrana. The movie was premiered in Amazon Prime Video and garnered positive reviews. Big B’s future projects are Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, and Chehre with Emraan Hashmi. He also acted in Jhund, the sports drama. In 2020, Big B was also booked for Ajay Devgn’s film Mayday.
