And the Airline of the year 2023 is…

The 2023 World Airline Awards were announced today at a gala ceremony held in the iconic Air and Space Museum at the Paris Air Show.  It was attended by over 350 guests from airlines across the world.   A large number of airline Presidents, CEO’s and Senior Management were present to accept their awards.  There were a lot of uniformed airline cabin crew present as has become customary at the World Airline Awards, showing off the corporate brands of the Airline.

Singapore Airlines was named World’s Best Airline at the 2023 Skytrax World Airline Awards making it the fifth time that SIA has won this prestigious accolade in the 23 year history of the awards.

Singapore Airlines took the top spot at this year’s Skytrax awards, in four categories including Best First Class Airline, Best First Class Comfort Amenities, and Best Airline in Asia while ranking second in the World’s Best Low Cost Airlines category was its low cost subsidiary Scoot which was named Best Long Haul Low cost Airline.

Skytrax awards are founded on the surveys of over 20 million travellers across over 100 nationalities, who rated more than 325 airlines between the period September 2022 – May 2023. The World Airline Awards widely regarded as the Oscars of the Aviation Industry, began in 1999 and remain completely impartial and independent with all the awards event and customer survey costs paid by Skytrax, who are the organizers.

Chief Executive Officer, SIA Mr. Goh Choon Phong who received the World’s Best Airline award on behalf of the Airline on 20th June 2023 in Paris expressed his gratitude and acknowledged the dedication and sacrifices made  by the Singapore Airlines Team.  He stated that this award was a testament to the indomitable spirit of SIA staff who made many sacrifices and worked tirelessly, to ensure that they were ready for the recovery in airtravel, allowing the airline to emerge stronger and fitter as the leading global airline.
