Apollo Diagnostics opens global reference lab in Hyderabad

She said, “The state of the art molecular lab is at par with the labs around the world, and has the capacity to process 50000 samples a day without human intervention  and will be a game changer for the entire healthcare industry”. She added, “This being a global lab, it will receive samples from abroad as well. We already have a tie up with Bahrain and will receive samples from across South East Asia. Apollo will also be launching the latest Genetic laboratory very soon at the facility”.

The lab is equipped with the most up-to-date molecular biology equipment, including RT PCRs, CB NAAT, and GenXpert testing. End-to-end biochemistry, immunology, and hematological services including flow cytometry for routine testing on the same floor with immunofluorometry are equivalent to global standards.

According to Dr. Sangita, plans are underway to open a modern genetics laboratory shortly as part of the institution. Chandra Sekhar C, Group CEO of Apollo Health and Lifestyle Ltd, said, “Like all our laboratories, GRL will be frequently enrolled in stringent clinical laboratory proficiency testing (PT) programs that are used to validate our testing protocols. Periodic review of QC results is a frequent tool for maintaining quality control of patient samples”.
