Chennai, India (CU)_ Apollo Hospitals has partnered with 8chili Inc., a deep tech firm, to deliver virtual reality solutions to healthcare. According to Prathap C Reddy, chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group, patient expectations continue to increase, and healthcare providers must continue to integrate innovative technologies in order to deliver the best possible treatment to patients.
Headquartered in San Francisco, 8chili has facilitated the creation of over 300 hours of 3D content in the previous six months. The platform exports the information to any metaverse real estate over 4G internet, assisting enterprises in managing, measuring, and optimizing their metaverse strategy.
Sangita Reddy, joint MD of Apollo Hospitals, expressed hopes over the collaboration. She said, “Healthcare is a natural fit for immersive VR training. As the need for healthcare professionals to be trained effectively and efficiently keeps growing, we strongly believe 8chili’s platform will help us deliver VR immersive training at scale and efficiency”.
The HintVR platform of 8chili allows surgeons to discuss with patients in complete immersion, resulting in more informed consent and improved patient outcomes. Surgeons can make use of the platform to engage patients in immersive and interactive pre- and post-operative consultations, and patients can benefit from 3D content to improve their health literacy and medical education. Other advantages are 3D immersive training for hospital staff and advanced visualizations to assist surgeons during pre- and post-operative planning and image guided surgery.

He said, “From the beginning, our focus has been to deliver a platform that makes it easier for organizations to tap into the full potential of the metaverse. We are very excited about working with Apollo Group Hospitals as this allows us to deliver the immersive experience to the millions of patients they serve”.
