California, USA (CWBN)_ Apple has official unveiled the latest member to their range of headsets – the   AirPods Max. After many months of speculation, the new product was revealed on Tuesday (8th December).  They are the company’s first foray into the headphone market since the AirPods released until now have all been earphones. They are also the first AirPods product to support active noise cancellation.

The wireless headphones, come in a magnitude of colours such as dark grey, silver, blue, green, and pink. In contrast, the rest of the AirPods range, including the AirPods Pro’s, are only available in white.

The new headphones feature an Adaptive EQ and high-fidelity superior audio which is made possible due to the custom-made Apple H1 chip. The H1 also provides support for a premium wireless Bluetooth 5.0 audio experience. The headphones also feature numerous sensors and up to nine microphones to help provide a seamless, top quality experience for apple ecosystem users. Apple has only mentioned support for their own ecosystems’ devices. As such, they have yet to state if the new headphones will be compatible with their Android counterparts.

Apple claims that the AirPods Max can go on for 20 hours before requiring to be plugged in for charging via the lightning connector port. The AirPods Max will be available starting on the 15th December however pre-order is possible now at an eye-watering $549.
