LISMORE, New South Wales (CU)_Several parts of Queensland, Australia was battered by a severe storm over the weekend, with at least seven people killed by record-high floods. The storms have now moved south, to the state of New South Wales, where generational floods left over 1,000 stranded residents are trapped or waiting to be rescued. Amid the severe weather conditions, which prompted evacuation warnings, a group of Fijian men joined local rescue efforts, helping elderly residents evacuate the area.
