SYDNEY (CU)_Over the past few years the Australian government has been experiencing increased pressure from the international community for its insufficient contributions towards global climate efforts. The biggest criticism made against the Pacific nation is its failure to commit to achieving net zero carbon emissions by mid-century, with Prime Minister Scott Morrison claiming hopes to reach carbon neutrality as soon as possible, “preferably” by 2050.
