India (Commonwealth Union)_ Ayodhya lit up in a spectacular fashion on Sunday evening as the city set two new world records during its Deepotsav celebrations during this Diwali. Over 26.17 lakh earthen lamps (diyas) were lit along the banks of the Saryu River, creating a breathtaking scene of devotion and celebration. Additionally, the event, organized by the Uttar Pradesh government, saw an impressive 2,128 people perform a grand ‘aarti’ together, marking another world record. Officials from Guinness World Records used drones to verify the numbers and confirmed the achievements during the event.

The celebrations began at 5 PM and lasted until 8 PM, featuring a dramatic light and sound show, dazzling fireworks, and cultural performances. Thousands of volunteers, over 33,000 in total, including students from colleges and universities, worked together to light the diyas across Ram Ki Paidi and 56 ghats. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the festivities, welcomed religious leaders, and participated in the ceremonial aarti. He also led a symbolic procession featuring performers dressed as Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman, riding a replica of the Pushpak Vimana.
