Bad show! Wallis in the dog house!

-

Wallis is known for being the star of the Bulldogs in 2020 as their top goal kicker as well as vice-captain. But things don’t seem to be going too smoothly as he couldn’t even make one goal in the opening rounds, he didn’t make it to the starter line up of the Australian Football League. Wallis is still the 27th player of the Melbourne side squad.

Beveridge stated that Wallis need not reinvent his entire game but just to play a more impressive and consistent game to have the goals and wins he has been training for. Beveridge further went on to state that “Mitch is aiming to be that influential player at state league level and that will be rewarded – we just haven’t quite seen that yet and he understands that. The boys who have been selected when there’s opportunities have been in our best handful of players at state league level the week before and the three weeks leading up in some cases.”

Beveridge has a youngster by the name of Cody Weighman that he uses as an example of a player who has played consistently and brought home wins. He further quoted that “Mitchy and I have had some good walks and chats in recent times. He knew he wasn’t going to play this week against Fremantle, To have him back in Melbourne and looking after the other 17, as much as they will put their best leadership foot forward, that was important for us as well.”

The team is now using their free time to analyse the match they lost by 28 point to Melbourne. Beveridge said they needed to have done better at managing James Harmes’ tag on star inside midfielder Tom Liberatore, who was nullified at the stoppages
