Bangladesh has become a role model in development- Chinese envoy

DHAKA, Bangladesh (CWBN)_ Bangladesh has become a role model in development under the great leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming said yesterday (Dec 16).

“While Bangladesh is heading towards the realisation of Sonar Bangla, China, as a strategic partner as well as a trusted friend, has always stood by Bangladesh and will certainly continue to do so in its every future endeavour,” he said on behalf of the government and people of China.

The ambassador added that PM Hasina, like her father, has been surprising the world through Bangladesh’s national achievements.

Li also extended his warmest greetings on the occasion of Victory Day, which commemorates the victory of Bangladesh over Pakistani in the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. Claiming that he was honoured to have the opportunity to join the celebration, the ambassador noted that Bangladesh’s victory was only made possible by the leadership of PM Hasina’s father, the greatest Bangalee of all time, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“Therefore, I join you today to pay my tribute to the sacred soul of Bangabandhu, the four national leaders, freedom fighters, and all martyrs of 1971,” he said.

He also applauded PM Haisna’s phenomenal leadership in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, and her timely response for a swift economic recovery in Bangladesh.
