Bangladesh Premier Sheikh Hasina visits Delhi!

Dhaka, Bangladesh (CU)_ Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has arrived in Delhi today for a four-day visit that is expected to strengthen the existing bilateral ties between the two nations. During the 4-day state visit, Bangladesh and India are slated to sign seven MoUs. According to Bangladesh’s foreign minister AK Abdul Momen, these agreements will be in the sectors of water management, railway, science and technology, law, information, and broadcasting. He made the announcement before Hasina’s trip to New Delhi and also stated that the two leaders would also discuss fuel oil.

On Monday, Hasina reached New Delhi at the invitation of PM Narendra Modi. The discussions between PM Modi and his colleague PM Hasina will include subjects of high priority, including security cooperation, investment, better commercial relations, power & energy sector collaboration, water sharing of shared rivers, border management, battling drug smuggling, and human trafficking. During her visit, Hasina will also meet with President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar.

PM Hasina’s last trip to India was in 2019, and the current trip will be her first to India in the last three years. The members of the high-delegation visit from Bangladesh also include Foreign Minister Momen, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan, Liberation War Minister A K M Mozammel Haq, and Prime Minister’s economic advisor Mashiur AKM Rahman.

According to the Union Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit of the Prime Minister of the neighboring country will deepen the multidimensional connection between the two nations, which is built on powerful historical and cultural links as well as common trust and understanding. In addition to formal meetings and discussions, Prime Minister Hasina will also visit the Dargah of the famed Sufi saint Moinuddin Chishti on Thursday in Ajmer, Rajasthan.
