Basavaraj Bommai reports on the success of Nano Urea in testing

During the launch of the 12th edition of Bengaluru India Nano, which is a three-day annual nanotechnology event held in Bengaluru last week, the Chief Minister stated that energy efficiency at the smallest scale is also expected to contribute to sustainability.

The CM expressed optimism over the state’s research infrastructure. He said, “Bengaluru with 180 R&D institutes has a very congenial ecosystem to incubate the growth of nanotechnology. The synergy between research outfits, educational institutions, and student community will help to translate lab findings to marketable products in the state”.

C.N. Ashwath Narayan, Minister for Electronics, Information Technology, and Science and Technology, stated during the occasion that the State Government will implement many sector-specific regulations, including one for nanotechnology. He expressed hopes over the future of nanotechnology. He said, “Nanotechnology has encompassed all the vital areas such as water, health, energy, agriculture and is set to become a $300 billion economy in the next five years”.

According to Navakanta Bhat, Chairman of the State Vision Group for Nanotechnology, the nanotechnology applications, which enable the production of nanoscale objects, will lead to revolutionary developments in the future years.
