‘One, Two, Three Rabies Free’  has also been started to promote the vaccine. Rabies is predicted to kill 59,000 animal bite victims worldwide annually, primarily in Asia and Africa. India alone accounts for more than 20,000 animal bite deaths, as the majority of animal bite victims do not receive the entire course of available vaccines.

ThRabis is a vaccine developed utilizing Virus-Like Particle technology (VLP). The VLPs self-assemble from this recombinant G protein, which is produced from genes cloned into baculovirus expression vectors and expressed in Spodoptera frugiperda (Sf9) insect cells. The vaccination induces antibody production against the rabies G protein, which results in virus neutralization and also blocks virus attachment to the cell, providing protection against rabies.
