In the ongoing India-Canada diplomatic dispute surrounding Nijjar’s killing, authorities are closely monitoring the two men believed to be responsible for the fatal shooting in British Columbia. The Globe and Mail, a prominent Canadian newspaper with circulation in five cities across the western and central regions of the country, reported these developments, citing its sources.
The media report indicates that the suspected killers remained within Canada after the incident in Surrey, and they have been under surveillance by the police for several months. According to two of the sources, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are expected to make arrests and press charges against the individuals in the upcoming weeks.
This development comes amid strained relations between India and Canada, with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suggesting Indian involvement in Nijjar’s murder on Canadian soil earlier this year. Hardeep Nijjar was fatally shot outside a gurdwara in Surrey on June 18.
