CNH unveils initiatives to boost Thai agriculture

Earth and Habitat (Commonwealth Union) _ At the first Thai Media Day, CNH Industrial announced new innovation and education projects to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability in Thailand. Partnering with Nakhon Sawan College of Agriculture and Technology (NSCAT), CNH aims to transform 45 hectares into a model farm, enhancing hands-on machinery training and technology transfer. They are also developing a new curriculum focused on modern agricultural machines and precision farming.

Mark Brinn, Managing Director for Southeast Asia and Japan, emphasized CNH’s unwavering dedication to innovation, sustainability, and productivity, focusing on empowering farmers with climate-smart machinery. CNH advocates for a collaborative approach involving multiple stakeholders to integrate precision farming solutions and advanced machinery, striving to position Thailand as a global agriculture hub.

During Media Day, experts discussed emerging trends, cutting-edge technologies, and the challenges in Thai agriculture. The event drew notable attendees, including officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, educational leaders, and industry advisors, fostering an engaging dialogue on the sector’s future.

Mr. Brinn highlighted the crucial role of capacity-building and skills training for farmers, ensuring they can adopt modern technology and contribute to the agriculture value chain’s growth. CNH is dedicated to nurturing future farmers through various educational initiatives, such as offering scholarships in partnership with Pakdee College and collaborating with King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology (KMITL) on curriculum design, training, and research. These efforts underscore CNH’s commitment to developing a skilled agricultural workforce equipped for the challenges and opportunities of modern farming.

CNH, recognized as a Great Place to Work, employs around 200 people in Thailand, serving as its Asia-Pacific headquarters. The company supports local farmers and builders with global brands like Case IH, New Holland, and CASE.
