Registration is required. As a result, policyholders who require claim help must schedule an appointment with an insurer or the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) at insurancecouncil.com.au/CycloneSeroja. According to PERILS, an independent organization headquartered in Zurich that provides industry-wide catastrophe insurance data, Tropical Cyclone Seroja is the biggest disaster for Western Australia after the 2010 Perth hailstorm, and the largest cyclone event after 1975 Cyclone Joan, 1978 Alby, and 1979 Hazel.

Until 22 February 2022, the ICA reported that insurers had accepted 99.44 percent of 9,273 claims for damage caused by Tropical Cyclone Seroja and had closed 83.75 percent of 6,394 personal claims. The latest loss estimate is $346.7 million. Darryl Pidcock, head of PERILS Asia-Pacific, previously stated that Seroja serves as an alarm that severe tropical cyclones may also form in the northwest of Western Australia.
