Danimer has allotted $700 million to enhance its Bainbridge manufacturing plant, which will roughly quadruple the company’s employees in Decatur County. The Eco-Friendly Company is a market leader in biodegradable product development and manufacturing. Clients in industries such as food packaging, bottling, and other conventional packaging sectors employ Danimers products.
Michael Smith, the Danimer Company’s Chief Operating Officer, had a discussion with the media about the company’s success in progressing and generating additional employment for the community. Sullivan expressed delight over the new employment. He said, “What we are building here is the first phase for what we hope to be a 2-phase facility here in Decatur County. So, what we built now is in the 600-to-700-million-dollar range so we only believe that will go up as we add future phases down the road. We are excited about the economic impact but also excited about the number of jobs we can create”.
Nearly 100 staff are employed in the Danimer Company in Southwest Georgia, which has its headquarters in Bainbridge dating back over a decade. Danimer plans to build a new 2,000,000-square-foot building near its present 25-acre premises, where technical roles and employment in manufacturing, maintenance, and management will be available.
