Dar encourages the diaspora to invest in IT!

Pakistan (Commonwealth Union)_ Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, federal minister of finance and revenue, told Pakistani-American IT/tech businessmen that the government was focusing deeply on the IT/tech industry in an effort to realize its full potential. During a virtual discussion with the entrepreneurs and Finance Minister Ayaz Sadiq, he revealed that the nation’s tech-savvy youth was an enormous resource that had to be explored effectively for the expansion of the IT industry.

According to the latest media statement released by the Ministry of Finance, Ms. Aisha Ghaus Pasha, the State Minister of Finance and Taxation; Jameel Ahmed, Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan and Masood Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, as well as other members of the Pakistani delegation were present during the meeting. The minister applauded the desire of Pakistani-American technology entrepreneurs to enhance the IT industry of the South Asian nation. He stressed that this industry has enormous development potential and can play a major role in bolstering Pakistan’s economy.

Dar promised the participants that the government will provide unwavering support for their efforts to boost Pakistan’s IT exports and to develop exponentially over the next several years. According to him, the government’s first concern was the economy, and to improve this, it had made difficult but crucial decisions in recent times to put it on the road to recovery. He added that the disastrous floods had aggravated the problem, but the administration expressed hopes that it could overcome the obstacles facing the economy via smart measures.

In their remarks, the Pakistani-American IT/Tech businessmen lauded the government’s emphasis on the IT/Tech industry and reaffirmed their desire to invest in Pakistan. In addition, they shared a number of ideas and plans to boost the expansion of the IT industry, notably Pakistan’s exports. The minister reassured them that their recommendations would be thoroughly reviewed for follow-up.
