Dirty Clean Food Sale

-

Australia (Commonwealth) _ An agreement has been reached by Wide Open Agriculture (WOA) to sell its Dirty Clean Food brand to Jay Albany, the CEO of the Australian agri-food major. The trademark will be offered for A$1.5 million (US$990,000), as per the agreement signed by both business partners.

Accordingly, Dirty Clean Food and “all assets” associated with the brand will be acquired by DCF Global Pty Ltd, Albany’s parent company. Albany would resign from his position as CEO of WOA effective immediately upon the transaction. He had taken up the role in December of 2022.

According to the ontract, permission from each and every shareholder of WOA is necessary to finalize the purchase.  Permission from each and every shareholder of WOA is necessary to finalize the purchase. Additionally, Albany must “secure financing for working capital for DCF” in order for it to be completed.

In an effort to commercialize its Buntine Protein component, which is derived from locally cultivated lupin beans in Western Australia, WOA has decided to sell the brand. According to the filing, the choice is also anticipated to “lower cash burn, improve sales focus, expedite possible future revenue, and streamline operations.”

As per the firm, the sale of Dirty Clean Food is anticipated to have an impact on its “immediate short-term revenue stream.” For the year ending June 30, 2023, the brand accounted for A$11.5 million of the group’s total sales.
An online retailer called Dirty Clean Food, with its headquarters in Kewdale, Western Australia, offers a selection of regionally and ethically made food and drink items. These consist of, among other things, fresh meats, seafood, fruits, vegetables, dairy, eggs, baked goods, prepared meals, and beverages like kombucha, flavor-infused sodas, and RTD coffees.

The business supplies Western Australian shops, catering establishments, and wholesalers in addition to direct-to-consumer internet sales. WOA stated that it anticipated that the commercialization of Buntine Protein and the redirection of its resources and capital toward the manufacture of plant-based proteins would eventually offset the impact on revenue.

WOA first announced last month that it intended to sell the brand. WOA chair Anthony Maslin issued the following statement in response to the news: “After spending a significant amount of time talking with prospective purchasers, it became obvious that Jay is the ideal man to take DCF into the next chapter.”

His enthusiasm for the industry is unmatched, and he has demonstrated his delivery expertise in this field not just at DCF but also in the past with Max Delivery in New York City. Furthermore, we think he is the best candidate to render DCF profitable, which would further advance and advance regenerative agriculture in Western Australia.

Albany also mentioned how grateful he is to the WOA board of directors for giving him the chance to oversee the business for the last 15 months.  I’m happy of the strides we’ve achieved in our lupin company to create a low-capital-expenditure route to commercialization and to cultivate a premier worldwide network of partners and prospects.

With COO Miranda Stamps and CEO Matthew Skinner steering the commercial course for our revolutionary lupin protein development, WOA is in capable hands. Did you know that one of the main contributors to climate change is the existing food system in the world, which accounts for 34% of carbon emissions? Isn’t it a somewhat concerning statement?
